‘Zynga Poker is rigged’

Zynga Poker is frequently in the news lately. The popular Facebook application attracts an amount of visitors (7 million daily unique visitors) which even makes Pokerstars jealous. Rumours are that Zynga will offer real money poker games when online poker gets legalised in the United States.

But if you are big, you can wait for negative publicity. A person hired by Zynga now claims Zynga Poker games are rigged.

The news was spread by the popular social bookmark site Reddit.com, where people can upvote posts. The particular posts already received 6500 votes and over 1800 comments.

The post is courtesy of the user ‘Mercenary-Games’ and it seems like Mercenary Games is a team of engineers who worked for Zynga. The anonymous person claims that Zynga spies on people and keeps track of all gaming data and habits of its users to maximize their profits. To obtain maximum profits codes are tweaked so that users who spend the most money on Zynga games are online longer and spend more money.

Reddit user Mercenary Games states that there are players spending tens of thousands of dollars on Zynga games.

There is hardly any proof to back up the claims. In the Reddit thread only an image of the contract termination. The post did receive attention from the biggest poker forum 2+2 though and at the moment there is a lot of speculation about poker companies profiting from player addiction to the game.
