Rafael Nadal joins Pokerstars!

Some very interesting poker news this afternoon: Tennis superstar Rafael Nadal will join online poker room Pokerstars. The Spanish giant is well-known for his competitive spirit and will now try to master the game of poker.

“It’s no secret that I love to compete and try my very best in everything, whether that’s tennis, golf or video games,”Nadal said. “When I discovered the game of poker, I chose to join PokerStars because they understand what it takes to be the best and associate themselves with the qualities of champions. I’m very happy to be working with them.”

Nadal will play some online poker at Pokerstars during the summer in between his busy schedule. Later in the year he will have more time to play and will represent Stars in various events. Details will follow.

The Spanish Nadal will play an important role to introduce fellow countrymen to online poker. A great move by Pokerstars, seeing the government just legalized online poker in Spain.
