Welcome at the MPC Poker School! For beginning players it can be difficult to decide on where to start when learning to play poker. On this page we give an overview on all the learning materials MPC has on offer. This way, you don’t have to think about where to start. Just follow our step-by-step instructions and you could be the ‘shark’ at the poker tables! We will start right at the very beginning. If you already know the rules, just skip this step and move on to the next step.

Step 1: The Poker Rules. If you don’t know the poker rules yet, our poker rules page is your starting point. You will learn how the betting works, what beats what and everything else you need to know. We focus on No Limit Texas Hold’em. This is by far the most played game and really easy to learn. If you are not much of a reader, don’t worry. Check out the videos on the rules page if you are more of a ‘watcher’.

Step 2: Learn Poker. Now you know the rules, it’s time to learn how to really play the game of poker. We wrote an extensive guide to make beginning players into real poker sharks. After reading, you will know about odds and outs and how to calculate them, which starting hands to play and not to play and what to do on flop, turn and river. Again, we focus on No Limit Texas Hold’em.

Step 3: Strategy. Now we’ve got a hold on the basis, it’s time to go deeper. In our strategy section we have many articles on different strategic topics for both beginners and advanced players.

Step 4: Video Training. The last few years, poker training sites popped up like wildfire. On these training, professionals let members watch while they play online and explain what they do and why they do it. A lot of the online pros of today have learned a big part of their skills from sites like Cardrunners and PocketFives. Step 5: Freerolls. The best way to learn is to just play a lot. You don’t want to play for real money (yet)? No problem!
