Phil Hellmuth launches Poker Calculator App

11-time WSOP bracelet-winner Phil Hellmuth has launched a new iPhone app together with MEDL mobile. The launch of the app comes right after Hellmuth’s succesful World Series of Poker 2011 in which he had runner-up finishes in 3(!) tournaments.

The poker app is divided in three categories: an odds calculator, a tutorial section and a “Phil Hellmuth Gear” section.

The odds calculator is the main feature of the iPhone and iPad application. It uses an advanced algorithmics to calculate the odds of all possible hands, which enables you to make better informed decisions at the poker table. The calculator is easy to use: just enter the cards on the table and the number of opponents to find out your chances. You can even assign hand ranges to your opponents which is a really cool feature. When all is done, the app calculates your odds of winning with the given hand.

The second part of the app consists of strategy tutorials by Phil Hellmuth. Tips range from playing tactics to advice on mind-set at the table.

The third part is the place to order Phil Hellmuth gear. You can order ‘Poker Brat’ apparel, books and DVD’s straight from within the app.

Of course, Hellmuth himself has something to say about his new app in his own particular words: “You need to have solid control over your game to win. If you want that control, you need to make better decisions, and that comes from having the best infrmation you can get!”
