Steven was the unlucky player who bubbled the final table when he lost a coinflop with his AK against Matthew Jarvis’ QQ for his last 11 big blinds. It still gives him nightmares..

Brandon Steven won $635,000 with the 10th place finish but lost the chance to win the World Series of Poker and also money-wise it was a big thing. All the November 9 players are guaranteed of at least $810,000 plus big money in sponsor contracts. According to Steven it was not about the money though:

“It’s good money, but I make a good living from other incomes already. I’m looking for challenges. I really need a big win. It’s not about the money,” Brandon said to the ESPN-cameras who came to visit him. “Damn it, it hit me sometimes and I can’t sleep at night since that day when I got knocked out of the Main Event. I was so close to $9 million and becoming a champ.”
