Let it Ride poker -also known as Let ‘em Ride- is a variation of 5 card stud played as a table game in casinos around the world. It is a favorite game to many table game aficionados because of its relatively slow pace. Let it Ride rules
Play starts by each player placing three bets out on the table. In some casinos the tables are marked by symbols with a 1, 2, and $ for the third mark. The first two spots are bets that are allowed to be withdrawn and the third mark $ is not allowed to be withdrawn. The players are then dealt 3 cards face down and the dealer also lays out two community cards face down on the table. At this time the players look at their cards they then decide whether they want to “let it ride” or retract a bet. If they let it ride that means they are deciding to continue with the hand.
Then the dealer reveals the first community card. A community card is any card played on the board that is played by every player. After the first community card is shown the players then decide once again if they want to let it ride or retract another bet. Then the dealer reveals the second and final community card. All players reveal their hands and if a player has made a pair of tens or better they win. If they make anything lesser than a pair of tens it is considered a losing hand and all bets are lost to the “house.”
Winning hands are paid out using a specific outlined structure determined by the casino which varies from casino to casino. Here is a general payout structure used by most casinos:
Royal Flush—1,000 to 1
Straight Flush—200 to 1
Four of a kind—50 to 1
Full-house—11 to 1
Flush—8 to 1
Straight—5 to 1
Three of a kind—3 to 1
Two pair—2 to 1
One pair or less—1 to 1

The best strategy for Let it Ride Poker
What is the best strategy for Let it Ride poker? The most important decision you will make in this game is deciding if and when you retract your bets. You should of course leave your bets on the table when you expect to win to maximize your gains. With 3 cards the best strategy is to let it ride when you already make a hand strong enough to win which would be a pair of tens at least. Let it ride when you have 3 cards to a royal flush. If you get lucky enough to complete that draw you will make the most of any bets you leave out there.
Another place to let it ride with 3 cards is when you have 3 suited cards in row of 3-4-5 or higher. This draw could pay off with a flush or even possibly a straight flush, and remember you can always retract a bet or if you feel it will not play out. You can also let it ride with straight draws with one or two gaps which are also called “gut shot draws.” Just make sure you have at least a ten for a one gap draw and at least two cards that are a ten or higher for a two gap draw.
If you let it ride and see the first community card consider this before letting it ride again. As before the community cards you should always let it ride if you already have made a winning hand. Let it ride when you have 4 cards to a flush which would include straight flushes and a royal flush. Yet another good situation to let it ride would be if you have any 4 cards to an open ended straight draw.
