Governor of Poker

Oh man, the fun I had with this little game a while ago. I played a demo version of Governor of Poker online an went ahead to purchase the whole game for around 7 dollars, I think it was. It is priced the same right now as well. The game does not require a quad-core setup, in fact I think even some mobile phones could run it with the power under their hood. But anyway, so you can play this game on almost any computer without a problem, but should you pay the money for the full download? The answer is very determined yes, especially if you are large fan of Texas Hold-Em.

You are a small little town man in this game in the state of Texas, in the 1800’s. You start off with a small amount of money and with a small house to live in. With the money you have you can buy into the first tournament. This tournament is 8 handed, but further on in the game you will find bigger fields in the tournaments, so don’t worry about that. The goal is to conquer the entire state of Texas with your poker skills and earn enough money by playing in tournaments that allows you to purchase the entire state and all the buildings inside it. You can also play in head to head tables with the town’s transport guy so he can give you a horse, a carriage or even a car for your win. There are also some cash tables that you can join and you will visit around 8 cities in total, each with its’ own buildings that you will need to purchase before passing on to the next town. You also get rent from the buildings you have already purchased in Governor of Poker, so that helps as well.

The Artificial Intelligence in this one is pretty, and that surprised because the size of the whole game is around 40MB, I think. In any case, it is a small game. The graphics and sound are very good as well and you have a nice interface to work with. All in all, a great game for those boring afternoons when nothing is on TV. So, now I can say that Governor of Poker really is worth the 10 something dollars that you have to pay for it. It is a very good game.
