Dwan on the comeback in Durrrr Challenge | Online Poker Club MPC

High Stakes Poker·

After a convincing win in the first challenge against Patrik Antonius, Tom ‘Durrrr’ Dwan has a harder time in his second challenge against Daniel ‘Jungleman12′ Cates. Before last week Dwan was behind $755,000 against the Cardrunners instructor.

As the title of this article suggests, Durrrr had a good time earlier this week recovering a good chunk of his losses.

The two high stakes regs battled it out over a few sessions, with Dwan getting the best of it. He won back $172K of his own money and is now $582,788 in the minus for the challenge.

The biggest pot of the day was an unfortunate set-up for Dwan in which he improved his hand on the river to aces and fives, but was looking to a rivered straight of his opponent:

Table: No-Limit Hold’em $200-$400
Player
Tom Dwan $107,785, hand:
Daniel Cates $62,389, hand

The action started when Jungleman12 raised to $800 from the small blind. Dwan just called with his suited ace from the big blind. The flop came

Dwan checks, and Cates bets $1,200. Dwan then check-raises to $4,400, and gets a call from Cates. The falls on the turn and Durrrr checkes, Cates bets $7,400. Dwan calls, and the virtual dealer puts up a on the river. Dwan checks again, and Cates bet $21,200. Dwan then put Jungleman all-in for about $30,000 more. Cates calles quickly with his rivered straight, and Dwan has to muck his aces and fives. Cates rakes in the pot worth $124,778.

Luckily for Dwan he ran better in the hands afterwards, thus winning a good chunk of money from Cates.
