David Vamplew wins EPT London | Poker Bonus Club Marawa

News·

After six long days we have new Pokerstars EPT champion. The final table played out rather quickly untill the Heads Up. Well-known professional John Juanda had the chiplead for a long time but eventually the Scottish youngster David Vamplew took the title. After a four hour long battle Vamplew took home his first live win and a prize of £900,000.

After the first few casualties we had four players left when John Juanda and Kyle Bowker played a huge pot. Bowker called the 5-bet shove of Juanda with pocket jacks. The initial smile when he saw the pocket 10′s of Juanda, dissapeared when the turn gave the fourth club and the flush for the Full Tilt Pro.

After this lucky pot Juanda went on to dominate Vamplew heads up who played a defensive style. The tide turned with a huge cooler when the flop gave two jacks. Both players had a jack but the 10 kicker of Vamplew was way better than the deuce kicker of Juanda.

No split pot or bad beat for the youngster who was still only even. Juanda kept the pressure on afterwards, but was pretty unlucky. When Juanda was all-in for the first time the match was finished. He pushed all-in for 3.4 million chips with K 2 of diamonds and Vamplew called quickly with the ace of clubs and the 3 of hearts. When the flop gave both an ace and a 3 there were only some backdoor draw possibilities for John Juanda. When the turn blanked the Scot seemed almost shocked. Nevertheless, he took home the title and a first prize of £900K.
