Cheater got caught, is angry now and sues Partouche Poker

November last year we wrote about the poker cheater Ali Tekintamgac. He and his buddies found a rather clever way to cheat during poker tournaments. The team had set up a simple poker website, arranged press badges and send members to poker tournaments disguised as bloggers or photograpghers. Tekintamgac played in those tournaments and the other team members made sure they came close to his table where they could signal to Tekintamgac what his opponents were holding.

Tekintamgac and his team were caught several times during different poker tournaments all around the world and during the Partouche Poker Tour in Paris, France this was no different. The Turkish poker pro made the final table but was removed from the tourney by tournament director Thomas Kremser. The French police started an investigation but couldn’t find enough evidence for a case against Tekintamgac and his crew. This was the sign for Tekintamgac to sue the Partouche Poker Tour organisation for €1,500,000 (=$2,000,000)! He based the number on the first prize of €1,300,000 plus €200,000 for ‘reputational damage’. According to Tekintamgac’s lawyer he even has a good chance of winning the case: ‘My client was never questioned by the French authorities, he has a very good chance of winning this case.’
