Poker Pro Al Krux arrested for possesion of drugs
‘How low can you go as a poker pro’ is a rhyme that comes to mind after hearing the news of triple WSOP Main Event finalist Al Krux being arrested for possesion of large amounts of drugs. The police found 40 pounds of marijuana in his (and his son’s) car and 90 marijuana plants in one of his houses in New York.
After several tips the police sent out a warrant, after which the 68-year old was stopped while driving his car. The police found 25 pounds of the forbidden substance in the car. The other 15 pounds of marijuana was found in the car of his son Adam Krux. Father and son were transfered to Onondaga County Justice Center where the bail was set to $20,000.
Al Krux is well-known for making the final table of the WSOP Main Even three times, most recently in 2004 where he was knocked out by the eventual champion Greg Raymer. In 1996 he won a bracelet in a WSOP side-event.
In this interview conducted this year, Krux talked about his early career switch from the diamond business to poker. It seems like he can add another ‘career switch’ to his resumé..
